What a great lodge! The architecture and interior decorations are so fantastic. The reception and service was incredible friendly and open. We felt more than being at home. We had two wonderful days we will never forget. The "bushman massage" drive down to the fish river was difficult and the question is if a 7 hours drive is worth what can be seen and be explained by the guide. Nevertheless, we can highly recommend this phantastic lodge in an even more phantastic environment. |

We spent 2 nights at Fish River. This takes a "Room with a View" to a whole new level! The drive down the Canyon was awesome. The swim in the rock pool will remain an unforgetable experience. All the staff at Fish River Lodge were very helpful and friendly. This is a must on your Namibia trip! Thank you |

We completed the 5 night canyon hike 14 to 18 Sept 2010 which included 2 nights either end in the lodge, 4 days walking down into and through the canyon with a guide, (we carried just day packs) and 3 nights luxurious camping at great sites in the canyon. The lodge is in a magical location, with incredible views, the staff are warm and welcoming and the facilities and food excellent. The canyon hike provided us with a very special, intimate and unique experience of this vast, remote and stunningly beautiful area and its abundant wildlife. Our guide was very informative, attentive and good company and we felt so privileged to have this section of the canyon completely to ourselves. Our stay was a definite highlight of our 3 week trip to Southern Namibia and we would highly recommend both the lodge and the hike to others. |

My wife and I spent two nights in this fantastic lodge during our recent trip in beautiful Namibia. The location is stunning, the lodge beautifully designed, right on the rim of the canyon, the views from the lodge and from the rooms are breathtaking, the staff is very friendly. We enjoyed a great trip into the canyon with a guide who was highly competent in his driving skills, as well as in in gelogy, botanic, etc. Although it takes some time to reach, a trip to the Fish River Canyon and a stay in the Fish River Lodge is strongly recommendable and should be high in the list of places to visit in Namibia. |

absolutely amazing location, and the accommodation is very nice as well. BUT... we were very disappointed with food, service and guided tours. Food was not up to standards (chicken in tomato sauce turns out as chicken with tuned - add some cream... - ketchup, service sluggish and the guided tour was merely getting into a 4*4 but no information whatsoever on the Canyon etc. Cannot recommend! Shame, as the location and accommodation would be ideal |

This a fabulous lodge in every respect; its views; its welcoming staff; and its stunning architecture. The imagination that has gone into creating Fish River Lodge beggars belief. We loved it and were very sorry to leave after only two nights. We'll just have to come back. I happened to be writing about the experience of visiting Fish River for the UK newspaper, The Guardian. It was a real pleasure to find a hotel that I could write about with genuine pleasure and enthusiasm. This place is a rare gem, and I wish it every success. We've been there for 3 wonderful days in August 2008. We got a warm and friendly welcome, the canyon tour with Benda was incredible. And we had the best view in namibia, direct into the canyon. Many Thanks. |
