Alf, Morgan and family - we enjoyed getting to know Penny when we became neighbours. She was always friendly, kind and helped us out with Sophie quite a bit. Sophie still has the squeaky chicken that was her first toy and one that Penny gave her. She had a great sense of humour and could be depended upon for neighbourhood gossip (never malicious or unkind) just information which allowed us to get to know a bit more about our neighbors. It is unfortunate that Alzheimer’s took her away from us too soon and we were very sorry about her failing health in the last few months. She is now at peace and you will all have your memories of her especially in the good times. |

Penny was a dear friend to Brian and I. We met her in 1978 when we were all living aboard our boats in Harbor Ferries, Vancouver. Penny knew all the boats and all the families...she even remembered who the previous owners of some of the boats!! By the early 80's most of us had moved to Vancouver Island. Penny and the kids were on Brookhaven for several years in the Inner Harbor. Penny adored Brook and Morgan who were her boat mates then. When she fell in love with Alf they moved to a lovely house in Victoria where their garden was a slightly smaller version of Butcharts! We have so many fond memories of joining Penny and Alf for dinners, parties and golf games, always highlighted by lots of laughter. Penny loved her family (she was over the moon when she became grandmother to John Morgan and Ashleigh), her friends, her many dogs and she loved life!! We were so very sorry when we heard Penny was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. But even that disease could not dim her wonderful light and love. Alf, Brook, Morgan, Ashleigh and John Morgan please know we are thinking of you at this very sad time. We adored Penny. RIP dear friend. |

Dear Brook , my heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of your dear mother . Though I never met her , I believe she was an extraordinary lady , full of zest for life , and aside from her baking , gardening , sharing and giving she loved discovering the world and experiencing many adventures . Just knowing her daughter tells it all. May she rest in everlasting peace . With sympathy for your loss from Uschi in Mississauga . |
