She was a wonderful lady that I got to know as a dear friend over the years of camping at Gordon Lake. Our families shared so much enjoyment over the years! What laughs and great times we had with your dear family!
I could not send sympathy cards as I didn't have your addresses, so Warren, Brent and Bryan, I am so thankful I recently found your Mom's beautiful obituary and I can write in the Guest Book. My love and deepest sympathy to you and your loved ones.
The last time we were able to visit with your parents was when we came to Kenora as my grandson, Zac, played hockey in Kenora that night.. What a wonderful visit we had and, of course, so many laughs! May our dear Lord put His arms of peace and comfort around all of you. Love always, Ruby

I knew Leona when working at LWDH in the late 1970’s. She was a dedicated nurse whose care for her patients came first. Her professional commitment was without question. She was always prepared to work anywhere in the hospital when asked. She was an asset to the nursing profession and her patients. Leona was a pleasure to work with at all times. I express my condolences to the family. Donna Wallace

I had the pleasure of working with Leona years ago at the hospital. I remember her being a committed and kind nurse with a deep compassion for others. The last time I chatted with Leona was about 6 months ago at Shopper’s Drug Mart. Her personable nature and genuineness always made conversation easy. She was a lovely lady. May God bring comfort and healing to all of Leona’s family. My thoughts are with you.

Thinking back to probably 30 plus years ago when I was just starting my career as a nurse at the hospital. I had the opportunity to work with an amazing group of nurses, Leona being one of them. She was a caring, compassionate nurse, treating all her patients with the utmost respect. . She knew how to get” the job done” and we managed to have fun while providing good care. It was a pleasure to have had that opportunity to work with her. Hugs to her family.
