	John F. Kennedy’s assassination marked the end of idealism & hope for a better world. To this day, I still feel there was something funny about the day the president was shot. I’m 72 years old. I’ll never forget that day. It was a very sad day, one that I will always remember. Rest In Peace….

	On the day democracy died, I was in a fifth grade classroom. When the principal announced the news my teacher burst into tears. We were allowed to go home early is what I remember after that, May God rest the soul of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
