I live in Michigan and have watched this invasion of our southwest by illegals gradually increase to the immense level that it is, and I am truly appalled and an angered by the unwillingness of our people and our government to properly address this dangerous border security issue. I hope we come to our senses soon before it is too late. All illegals in the U.S. should be rounded up and shipped back no matter trouble and expense to our country. Merl |

I live in Northern Maine and coyote huntin' just isnt the same here as it is out West. Sure it has the same principles but finding a place to hunt is a challenge. Then once you get permission to hunt the land or get all set up getting a half decent shot is the hardest part of the whole experience. I just started coyote huntin' and I hunted three 26 hour days and only shot one coyote.Saw a few more and heard a few talkin' to eachother but only got one shot. The tips, stories and videos should help me a great deal in the field, as a 16 year old new to coyote huntin' i need all the help i can get! I am an avid..addicted deer hunter and the challenges with coyote huntin' were unexpected. I am well on my way to becoming a predator addict, too! Great site, lots of information, excellent pictures, keep up the good work! |

I read the article about the boarder hunt. I would have to agree with you. I have a couple of places there that I like to hunt on the boarder, and I have permission from one of the ranchers whose Grandparents Homesteaded in 1885 800yrds from the boarder. He was glad to see a predator hunter and told me where the Coyotes were. (he was dead on) He asked me to come back anytime and told me to sit still and let anyone I see with backpacks go by and don't let them see me. Those people have protection flanking them to provide cover. For those that like to hunt in that open Grass land south of Tucson be careful. I hate that we have to live like that, but I go prepared. Good camo doesn't only fool the Coyotes. Looking forward to this years hunts |

I am new to hunting coyotes and found your site about 1 hour ago. LOT of great tips and loved the stories. I would like to share my first coyote kill with you. On Feb 23, 2010 I let my dog out at 6am in the moring about 6:10 a coyote had came within 7 yards of my back porch. My dog went after the coyote at which I intervined and called my dog inside. The Coyote just stared at me and it kind of made me uneasy. At around 7am my wife and I were enjoying our coffee and she saw Two coyotes out in my pasture. I grabed my Ruger mini 14 howerer I was unable to get a good shot on them. I missed the closetest coyote which was about 400 yards away, I was using iron sites and the coyote was facing me. I shot and missed only by inches the dirt plum was next the the coyotes back leg. About 8:45 my wife told me that there were now three coyotes on in the pasture and I could not believe it. I grabed my rife and headed out. None of the coyotes ran away even though they saw me. Finaly one gave me a broad side shot at a little over 425 yards and I shot. The coyote just started walking slowly away while the other two ran off. I tracked the coyote down and ended up shooting her in the head at about 10 yards. My first shot blew her right back leg all most all the way off. She was an adult female. Now I have a 3-9X40 scope and hand held call for the next one. I hope you enjoyed. Thanks for your stories. Jon What are you talking about? I have never shy'd away from skinning a coyote or bobcat depending on the pelts. Usually we are in the competition hunts and can't skin them. You must have me confussed with someone else - the proof is in the pictures - ha ha |

If I didn't see the picture I wouldn't have believed it. Billy D. skinning a coyote... I remember when you wouldn't even touch the nasty things. I take it you got drawn for deer and Elk. looks like you did good on both. I took my youngest daughter this year and she killed a 2 year old cow. One thing I found out was that the game wardens become your best buddy when you have a pretty girl in the truck with you. Will be taking her daughter out next year. We are getting the dogs going again, but have gotten a better start this time. We have spotted a place with an abundance of lion tracks, and as soon as the tracking collars get in we will be hitting it hard. Coyotes and such have been ok, Jason shot a lion in April or so and a Bob cat a couple weeks ago. will be running cats, bears, and small preditors and varmints with dogs this season and maybe try some doggin coyotes next year. Got an ADC hunter in Colorado who uses the Jagds for hunting and has gotten them to settle down for doggin. They are pretty hard core dogs so holding them back can be dificult to say the least. Many of the hunters I run with now use the Jagds for blood trailing after the dogs are shot, so chances of a gang bang are not as possible. Well thought I would check on you, see whats going on. Tell Brandon I said hi and any of the rest of the gange. Hunt hard and will talk back at you soon Jon |

Before I met Billy and found this site I was cluless as to how to call in a coyote. Sure, I could make noise with a call but I didn't know how to set up, where to call, or even how long to call. With all the information I've received from the tips online and from Billy in the field, I'm now calling in dogs all on my own. We've had our dogless days but the last hunt we called in five on the first four stands and I've called in one on my own as well. I hope everybody benefits from this site as much as I have. |
