Hi John, I found your pages very interesting, I read everything! My Nimmo Line so far that I can prove is: of course me:, my father: Richard Nimmo (1923 Oklahoma- 1988 Walla Walla, Wa). His father: Herbert Clarance Nimmo (1901Oklahoma-1978 Kalama, Wa.). His father: John Samuel Nimmo (1879 Kansas City, Mo.-1961 Oklahoma). His father William S Nimmo (1843 Scotland-1898 Oklahoma), The next one I have listed as William S., father is: Samuel Nimmo Birth 1819 • Scotland (1850 census b 1819 Ireland) Migrated from Canada 1842 under NEMO. This is the one I'm not positive about... Iguess more research ahead. Just looking for relations to this line of Nimmo. Thanks. |

hi It was really good to read about my ancestory ,I was born in 1958 in London my name then was Stephen john nimmo ,but was changed when I was adopted by my step father hence the name peacock,i recently got in touch with my real father david nimmo after 55 years apart ,he sadly passed away last year ,but after talking to him I do know the I have family somewhere in Scotland ,I am now living in cornwall |

Hi everyone, my family has lived in Tennessee for generations. We are descendants of John nimmo who emigrated from around Edinburgh Scotland. Interesting site. Mr grannies sister Meg Griffith was married to an Alec Nimmo who lived in Maddison near Falkirk. " Uncle Alec " as I called him in the 1960's was a bit of a clock boffin and repaired and made many clocks in the shed, which was a fully equiped watchmakers workshop, at the bottom of his garden. If anyone can give me further information on Mr Nimmos family please email me. Alec & Meg never had any children of thier own. |

Im currently researching my family tree, I knew from my mother(marjorie nimmo}her father was george earnest nimmo born aprx 1883.He was related to nimmos breweries in castle eden & married a charlotte young 2 children marjorie bn 1908 & robert bn aprox 1912.I would appriciate any information on my possible greatgrandparents.Im afraid I dont know where my grandfather was born. |

I have been tracing my family tree and have just found out I am the great grandaughter of Wilhelmina Nimmo, the daughter of William Nimmo, the owners of Castle Eden Brewery. Hi John, I was hoping either you or someone reading this post could help me identify the parents or siblings of my 5th great-grandmother Janet Nimmo. I have no idea of the year she was born; however, I do have some facts on her that may help. OPR Marriages Linlithgow - “Samuel Duncan and Janet Nimmo both in this parish proclaimed in order to marriage Nov 3 – 1793” Another search of OPR births has 4 children with the parent names of Samuel Duncan/Janet Nimmo. The children are: Helen Duncan 24/01/1795 -- Janet Duncan 08/12/1796 -- Jean Duncan 13/03/1805 -- And lastly my 4th great-grandfather Samuel Duncan 04/09/1800 And lastly, Janet Nimmo and Samuel Duncan’s son Samuel Duncan (occupation: Smith) on the 1841 Scotland Census resided with his wife Janet Flockhart and their children in Muiravonside the Place is listed as Brew-house. (They moved to Canada in 1846.) And that is how I found you… When I did a search for “Brew-House, Muiravonside, Scotland, Your Nimmo Site was 3rd on the list. Any help or leads anyone could give would be appreciated |

I'm a Nimmo who was born in Kilmarnock,Ayrshire,Scotland. We immigrated to Canada when I was 10 years old in 1966. My grandfather was James Nimmo born around 1900 in the small town of Galston in Ayrshire. He married Jane Spence around 1930. He worked as a coal miner for 50 years in Ayrshire. I'm looking for the parents of my grandfather, I think his mother's name might have been Jean. He had a sister named Jenny. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. This is a great website, I have learned a lot about my Nimmo name. |

My great-grandfather was Alexander 'Sanny' Nimmo. An almost legendary strongman! My grandmother was his daughter Elizabeth Nimmo born about 1909, who married George Paterson 16 November 1930. |

My father Alexander lived in linlithgow Scoland and has 3 brothers who are David,James& Andrew(died).Also sisters who are Agnes(died),Marion(died)&Isobel who still remain in scotland with my cousins, i however live in liverpool England with my family ,wife Sue, children Helen &Alex. Hello John, I was wondering if you might know anything about how many Nimmo families might be in the U.S. currently. I heard from another Nimmo clan member over in Stirlingshire, Scotland that there weren't that many at all and in fact that the majority of the Nimmo family still resides in Scotland. He mentioned that he knew there was at least 4 families in California, 2 in KY, and 4 in TN. Our family counts as one of those in TN, and I know for sure that 2 other families live in the area as well. I'm just wondering if you might know. I can't seem to find anything myself but it would be interesting to know in my opinion. Anyway thanks and I'm glad I found your page, very well done and informative! |
